Collective of Time Being
Interactive Installation
Project Statement
Collective of Time Being is an interactive installation that continuously evolves as it merges the audience into a flow of memories, dreams, and self-awareness. Technically, a Kinect sensor device captures real-time movements of the audience that randomly combine with pre-rendered 3D animations projected on 2 curved walls facing each other. Bits and pieces of the artist’s personal memories (past) blend with the audience’s presence; together they produce the desired re-orientation of time-space for the audience.
The Installation
Here are some of the installation photos captured and rendered to show how the final interactive installation looks like in the physical space. The final physical form of the installation is in the 2 curved plains facing toward each other for projection mapping and interactive purpose. However, after finishing the exhibition at the predesignated installation site, SVA Chelsea gallery, New York, the project was later selected to exhibits at multiple locations with different setup conditions. Consequently, some of the photos show different setup and scale.
Drawing / 3D Render
Since drawing takes a big part in the process of conceptualizing the project. It’s also interesting to see how 2D hand drawing got translated into fully 3D animated environment
